State Innovation Video 2023: New York Community Mobile Air Monitoring Initiative
New York utilized cars with air sensor technology to perform mobile air monitoring in areas disproportionately subjected to pollution. As part of this initiative, they collected data from 10 communities on fine particulate matter, ozone, methane, and greenhouse gases. Collecting this data helps identify where and when pollution is impacting communities, making it easier to reduce air pollution in these areas.
