On June 6, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation released its final policy and form for manufacturer disclosures under the Household Cleaning Product Information Disclosure Program.
The program is similar to the recently enacted California Cleaning Product Right to Know Act of 2017 in that it requires household cleaning product manufacturers in the state to disclose chemical ingredients on websites or product labels. Such actions are the latest in state efforts to gain access to otherwise-designated confidential business information under the amended Toxic Substances Control Act.
The first disclosures in New York State are due July 1, 2019.
