In coordination with the start of their Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) notification season, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) this week, released a new brochure to encourage the public to learn about HABs. The brochure explains how to detect, avoid, and report HABs, as well as the health risks of HABs.
DEC also released a new program guide that discussed how the DEC HABs Program works with partners throughout the state to address HABs. The brochure and program guide, along with other resources and information are on DEC’s Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) web page.
