ECOS member Dave Glatt is now leading a new independent state agency — the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), pursuant to a bill passed by state lawmakers in 2017 to split the Environmental Health Section from the North Dakota Department of Health. Glatt had led the Environmental Health Section since 2002.
All DEQ programs have completed the U.S. EPA review and approval process, and the agency went into official operation on April 29.
