As part of a statewide customer service enhancement plan, the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) has made all septic system records for two counties available online for the public to access. In Hawkins County, this effort consisted of transferring 117 cubic feet of files, totaling approximately 17,465 files, to online documents.
The public can now search and retrieve these files from the comfort of their own homes rather than having to travel to a county office to obtain paper copies. This development marks the beginning of TDEC’s effort to transfer all septic system documents throughout the state to an online platform.
