As summer temperatures drive Wyoming residents to local lakes and reservoirs, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) is advising the public to avoid and report cyanobacterial blooms.
Cyanobacteria is an algae that can form harmful blooms resulting from higher water temperatures in still or slow-moving water. The blue-green algae can produce toxins that pose risks to human and animal health.
