The DSWM has crafted a grant to support Objective 2 of the 2025 Solid Waste Management Plan. Objective 2 promotes access to to recycling and collection services. Tennessee currently collects HHW via mobile collection events held annually state wide. The Temporary Collection Infrastructure will allow for 365 day disposal access for HHW materials in participating counties.

What are the Results to Date?
The HHW program is ongoing. Several other states such as Missouri already collect HHW with this concept.
What are the Resources Needed, including Time, Cost, Etc.?
This is unknown, but it will result in an overall reduction in disposal costs as mobile events are expensive.
